Monthly Recommendations

For Business Owners & Founders

The window of 11–14 May is your most valuable 4-day window of the month.

Mars direct in Aries, Venus in Taurus, Mercury direct. If there is a launch, a capital commitment, a partnership formation, or a key appointment to be made — place it here. The Shukla Paksha from 17 May onward is the second-best window for business beginnings. Do not initiate major new ventures in the first 10 days of May — Mars debilitated in Pisces creates unnecessary friction. Prepare thoroughly in the first 10 days. Execute decisively from the 11th.

For Those Navigating Marriage Decisions

May 13–14 are the final, strongest days of the most auspicious Venus window of this period.

Venus in its own sign Taurus closes on 14 May. For families finalising a marriage date, completing a compatibility assessment, or commissioning a Vivah Muhurta consultation — act before 14 May. May 7 is also strongly recommended. If the marriage cannot be placed in May, use this window to complete the Muhurta determination while Venus is still in full dignity.

For Property Decisions

Complete property transactions before 14 May wherever possible.

The Venus-in-Taurus window (until 14 May) is the most favourable period for property transactions in May. Taurus is the sign of land, real estate, and physical wealth. Griha Pravesh ceremonies are also well-supported on 7, 13, 21, 24, and 28 May. The post-Amavasya window (17 May onward) carries the growing Moon's energy for new beginnings.

For Spiritual Practice

Vaishakha Purnima (1 May) and the Ekadashis (12 and 27 May) are the month's most sacred days.

The full moon of Buddha Purnima on 1 May is among the holiest days of the Vedic year. Charity given, mantras chanted, and practices performed on this day carry extraordinary merit. Ekadashi fasting on 12 and 27 May deepens spiritual receptivity. The entire month of May — as the eve of Jupiter's exaltation — carries heightened spiritual potency.

Cautionary Periods — What to Avoid

Three periods this month carry specific cautions.

1–10 May: Mars debilitated. Avoid initiating aggressive new ventures, property disputes, litigation, or major financial commitments. This is preparation time, not action time.

16 May — Amavasya: No new ceremonies, partnerships, purchases, or important meetings. Reserve this day for ancestral rites and spiritual practice.

Daily — Rahu Kaal: Even on the most auspicious days, avoid beginning any important action during the daily Rahu Kaal window. Times vary by city — consult the daily Panchang before finalising any ceremony timing.
